Alison Mariella Désir
Named by Women's Running as one of twenty women who are changing the sport of running and the world and by The Root 100 as one of the most influential African Americans, ages 25 to 45, Alison is an endurance athlete, activist, and mental health counselor. Alison is the founder of Harlem Run (an NYC-based running movement) and Run 4 All Women. Alison recently wrote the foreword for Running is My Therapy, by NYTimes best-selling author Scott Douglas.
Susan Lacke is a writer, professor, and adventure junkie from Phoenix, Arizona. As the storyteller of endurance sports, Lacke's writing has appeared in many magazines, including Triathlete, Women's Running, Competitor, and Outside. She is the author of two books: Life's Too Short to Go So F*cking Slow and Running Outside the Comfort Zone. Betty Wong Ortiz
Betty Wong Ortiz is the former Editor In Chief of Runner's World at Rodale Inc. Ms. Ortiz was the Dof editorial strategy and operations at Conde Nast's Bon Appetit where she managed content workflows and budgets across print, digital and video, directed special projects and optimized strategic partnerships. She served as editor in chief of Fitness, where she developed a deep passion for and expertise in running, health and nutrition. She is a graduate of Cornell University and earned an MBA from NYU Stern.
Melanie Webb, B.S., is the founder of Sol Fitness Adventures and author of Adventures in Mother Nature’s Gym. An ACE-certified personal trainer, Melanie has successfully forged a dual career that bridges the gap between the fitness and outdoor industries. The former wildlife biologist and environmental consultant lent her expertise to KUHL Clothing from 2015 to 2018, managing PR and government affairs at a time when the public lands debate was at an all time high. Melanie was a sponsored ATHLETA ambassador whose work has been featured on Good Morning America, DEPARTURES, Los Angeles Times, New Beauty, Outside, and more.
