The Midterm Run

The Midterm Run

One Goal: Raise $3 million to help flip Congress

It’s been one year since we ran from Harlem to D.C.

One year since we responded to the threats posed by the incoming administration by organizing: first a run to raise $44,000 for Planned Parenthood and later a Women's Summit, followed by 5 national events. What started out as an effort of four women quickly grew into a movement of thousands running for all women and ultimately raising more than $160,000.

It’s 2018 now. One year since the #Run4AllWomen. One year since the Women’s March. One year of a Trump presidency.  The stakes are higher.

It's been said that it's the responsibility of the majority to defend the rights of the minority.  Well, three million more people voted for a vision of a country that provided affordable quality healthcare to all. Three million more people voted for a country that respects individual liberties, like freedom of religion, expression, and orientation. Three million more people voted for the vision of a country that values a thriving and equitable economy. Three million more people voted for a vision of America that rejected divisiveness and worked toward national unity. Three million more people voted for a vision of a government that operated as three co-equal branches and not as pawns to foreign or financial influence. We cannot sit idly by and allow indifference to destroy our democracy.  We must stand!  And we must stand with those who are running! And that is why we will run again.

This time, in honor of the three million more people who voted for a different vision of our nation, we will run 2018 miles for 11 candidates across 6 states raising $3,000,000.  The money will go to support candidates that are running to flip a district.

They’re running for us, so we’re running for them.

Join us in the Midterm Run and support these candidates!

Later that year she would run her first marathon in Philadelphia.

Since 2009, Jen has run 7 marathons, 3 New York and others in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maine. She has also run close to 20 half marathons on the East and West coast and countless 10ks and 5ks.
